Random thoughts

The constructed human world hides the mystery of nature.

There is an intuition within everyone, expressed a million different ways via religion and spiritualism, that all of reality is one unified thing. This intuition cannot be expressed in words. It evades verbal description because it exists outside of language; it is not conceptual.

An almanac is an attempt to tame nature via models that project patterns into the future. The almanac closes the universe into a sinusoidal loop.

predictions of the position of the moon. unknowable

If you know where the moon is today, can you know where it will be tomorrow?

Magritte quotes

“Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible does not show us. This interest can take the form of a quite intense feeling, a sort of conflict, one might say, between the visible that is hidden and the visible that is present.”

“The mind loves the unknown. It loves images whose meaning is unknown, since the meaning of the mind itself is unknown.”

“We are surrounded by curtains. We only perceive the world behind a curtain of semblance. At the same time, an object needs to be covered in order to be recognized at all.”
